17th Annual Worldwide Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon

OK boys and girls, it’s that time of the year again! I will be hosting the local Syracuse version of the Annual Worldwide Ringmaster Fly-A-Ton. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 5 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the STARS (Syracuse Thunderbirds Aero Radio Society) flying field in Phoenix, NY. This event is being held to help celebrate the 17th Annual Worldwide Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon sponsored by the ‘Brotherhood of the Ring‘. The goal is to have as many pilots as possible record as many Ringmaster flights as possible to help contribute to this worldwide event. With that said, the real goal is to have as much fun as possible flying Ringmaster planes with other like-minded flyers!

During the Syracuse event, the STARS facility will have food and beverages for sale at reasonable prices. There are also outhouse facilities provided at the field.

The long-range weather forecast for October 5 seems reasonable for a change! We have flown this event in wind and rain but this year the forecast is for mostly sunny, 69 degrees with light winds at 6 MPH. That would be absolutely tropical by our Syracuse standards!

Everyone is invited to come and fly Ringmasters…bring any version you may have. If someone does not have a Ringmaster, I will be providing one for anyone to fly. If interested, let me know and I can provide additional details. I can be contacted through this link: Contact

I have attached a flyer with all the information needed for anyone to participate in this event no matter where in the world you live. Every year has resulted in a new record for the number of pilots participating and the number of flights flown. We are trying to set yet another world record this year so please consider joining in!

As always, this Syracuse flight session will NOT be exclusively for Ringmasters as this flying session will also be BYOP (Bring Your Own Plane). So if you have some other plane you’d like to fly, bring it!
