Onboard With the Austrians!

It has been quite some time since I’ve featured a video from my favorite gaggle of Austrian pilots here in FlyBoyz. Finally, one caught my eye so I am presenting it here to you.

This video features the Austrians performing a formation flight with their WW2 Fighters during the Mini Airshow at Barone Rosso – Fagagna/Italy on June 6, 2015. What caught my eye was the onboard recording made during the flight. In this case, two GoPro 3 cameras were mounted on a Spitfire which was flying as part of the formation.

While the pilots are to be congratulated for putting on a successful performance, the Spitfire did not make it through the performance. If you watch to the end of the video, you can see in the bonus footage that the P-47 made contact in flight with the Spitfire and that was most likely the reason for what became of the Spitfire.

As always, Thanks to RCScaleAirplanes for posting this video to YouTube!
