3, 15, 100, 738, 4,359

A couple weeks ago, 3 of us from the STARS club participated in the 10th Annual Worldwide Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon.. Over the course of a few hours, we managed to log 15 official flights as our contribution to the event which was being held worldwide on that weekend. What made it particularly significant for us was the participation of Nathan Knapp who I wrote about in a recent FlyBoyz post. His mother drove him to the field once his father reported to her that we were flying our Ring Masters for this event. Then both parents got to watch as Nathan posted an official flight, including a SOLO, for the event!

The day also saw a significant milestone achieved by me and my Ring Master. I needed to record 10 flights on my Ring Master in order for it to hit the official 100 flights mark. Including Nathan’s flight, the Ring Master accomplished 11 flights during the day, thus surpassing the goal. The plane is definitely showing signs of wear after all those flights but it continues to fly strong. Nevertheless, it is time to retire it as my primary plane and move on up to a new and bigger one. Stay tuned for upcoming posts on a new SIG Twister!

Worldwide, the Fly-A-Thon continues to set new records each year. The final results are in and this year a total of 738 pilots from around the world recorded a total of 4,359 flights for the event. Truly a staggering number! And of course, the Slovaks once again killed it with their contributions! All the results can be seen in the attached spreadsheet and PDF found at the bottom of this post.

Steve, Nathan, and I had a great time flying our Ring Masters as can hopefully be seen from the below photos. Plan to join us next year and log a couple flights yourself!
