Apple’s Spaceship in 4K

If you’ve been reading FlyBoyz for a while, you know that from time to time I like to feature ‘cool’ videos that are filmed using the latest drone technology. It’s been a while now (actually, it’s been a full year!) since I saw a video that captured my attention. Well, I’ve found another one! And besides being a very cool drone video, the subject of this video is of something else very special to me…Apple Computer. Yes, I am an Apple geek thru and thru. And this video was filmed showing the latest construction progress on Apple’s new campus which, has been dubbed the ‘Spaceship’. I suppose that ‘Spaceship’ title also qualifies this video subject matter for inclusion here in FlyBoyz!

As this video shows, construction on Apple’s second campus is progressing nicely, with Apple’s construction crews making a lot of headway on the ring-shaped main building.

Four internal levels of the primary building have now been completed, and the concept Steve Jobs envisioned for the campus is starting to take shape. When completed, the interior area of the building will feature hundreds of trees and lots of greenery, with outdoor eating and viewing areas for Apple employees.

Two nearby parking structures are now close to being completed, and there’s also been some progress made on the underground auditorium, where Apple will hold major press events.

When fully complete, the second Apple campus will feature the 2.8 million square foot ring-shaped main building, several parking structures, a 100,000 square foot fitness center, a 120,000 square foot auditorium for hosting events, and a dedicated visitor’s center complete with an observation deck, cafe, and Apple Store. One thing that I don’t know about is the large green pyramid shaped pile of dirt that is visible in the video. I’m not sure if this is just temporary dirt storage during construction or is meant for some other purpose.

Apple is on track to finish construction at the end of next year.

This video was filmed in 4K by Duncan Sinfield using the DJI Inspire 1 with Zenmuse X3 Stabilized Camera Gimbal.

Enjoy the view!
