Home Meet Skilled Flyer

Meet Skilled Flyer

From time to time I receive an inquiry email here at FlyBoyz from someone asking if they can utilize the blog to advance their agenda in some way. My first concern when I receive an inquiry email such as this is to determine if the email is either spam or some manufacturer trying to hawk something. So I check the credentials of whoever contacted me before I consider the next step which is to determine if including the request on the blog is keeping in with my stated mission for FlyBoyz. Every now and then someone meets the muster and I feature them on the blog.

Separate from the inquiry emails, one of the situations that I really enjoy is helping someone who is just getting started with some sort of aviation venture. Starting anything from scratch is a daunting task. I know from my experience here at FlyBoyz how hard it can be to get the word out about your new venture. So now that FlyBoyz is somewhat established with a bit of an audience, I enjoy using it as a platform to help other new ‘aviators’ venture into their version of aviation.

Recently, one such individual met my inquiry email muster and also falls into the category of starting a new aviation venture. What I was presented with was a new aviation related website that is very nicely done with high quality content, writing, and photos/videos…all of which are things which I strive for in FlyBoyz.

And the website fills a void in the areas which I routinely cover here in FlyBoyz. If you’ve checked out FlyBoyz in any depth, you see that drones is an area which is not very well represented. There are several reasons for that which I mention from time to time in some of my posts, but basically, drones are not a principal area of interest of mine. However, having said that, my comment doesn’t mean that I don’t want to keep up with what’s going on in the drone-o-sphere. I realize that drones are one of the ‘hot’ areas in the hobby and I would like to see them represented more in FlyBoyz so that my site will appeal to a larger audience.

Given all that, I am now happy to introduce David and his new website Skilled Flyer which is dedicated to Drones. From time to time, David will be a ‘Guest Poster’ here on FlyBoyz with posts relevant to the new world of drones. I am also featuring a link to Skilled Flyer in the ‘Our Companion Sites‘ listings in the footer of FlyBoyz. Clicking there will take you directly to Skilled Flyer where you can read about the many other drone topics covered by David.

I have asked David to give a brief introduction to his website and here it is:

Introduction – About David and SkilledFlyer.com

Hi everyone!

Mike thought it was a good idea for me to write about myself and my site, so here it is. I created Skilled Flyer earlier in 2016 to help people learn about RC drones.

I remember when I first starting learning about drones three years ago, there were hardly any sites on the topic. Thus, I had to learn everything the old-fashioned way…through trial and error! My aim is to create a site where people can learn basic things like:

  • How to fly a drone
  • How to build a drone
  • The different types of drones (RTF, BNF, and ARF)
  • How to increase flight time
  • Drone news
  • Latest drone reviews

The goal is to help beginners learn about the industry in a fun way. I try to be as objective as possible in all my reviews. This will help people make a better decision when shopping for a drone.

Anyways, thanks for reading. Mike already has a great site himself, so it’s nice of him to let me do this. If you have any questions about drones, feel free to send me a message! I’ll be happy to answer them.

David

If you have an interest in checking out David’s new website just click here: www.skilledflyer.com. Then, bookmark the site and check back in with it often. I think it has the makings for something worth following!
