Li’L Wizard – Ready To Fly!

The Li’L Wizard is complete and ready to go flying!

The blue color coat of dope has been added followed by several coats of clear dope. Decals were then added as well as red and black trim tape. Finally, the wheels, hardware, and engine were all mounted.

This model won’t win any scale contests or awards for fine craftsmanship, but then again, it is meant to be used as a flight trainer and will more than likely see its’ share of bumps, scrapes, and hard landings. And given that future, I’m pleased with how it came out and looks. I’ve included several photos of the final product including a shot of the underside which shows the control lines, bellcrank, and pushrod hardware.

So, at this point all I need is a day with nice weather and my student available. Give me a call, The_Black_Ninja!!

When you do take it out make sure you have someone video tape the lesson/flight so we can see the Wizard in action!

WoW wasn’t expecting this done till next year lol. I’m coming over tonight so Kyle and I can ceremonially burn my old calculus II book that is one edition behind so therefore will not sell for even a penny. We should sneak a flight in.

The forecast is showing rain and wind over 10mph for the next 7 days. Neither of those is good for flying! Looks like the maiden flight of the Wizard waits at least another week (just in time to replace the wheels with snow skis!).
